SHALOM Camp at Mt. Cross
July 5, 2008
So, getting ready for an exciting week at Mt. Cross for SHALOM camp with about 10 of you wonderful Confirmation students makes me start thinking. Are there some of you who have been to Confirmation camp before that have a favorite memory to share? Let’s here it. OK?

Well, I totally remember that time you tried to ROLL down the HILL on a 2 x 4 wooden block and fell! SOrry, but that was really really really funny!!!!!!!!!!Let’s see, I also remember doing the counselor hunt and finding that one dude on the roof of Redwood and them carrying him all the way down the hill with Alyssa, Sara, and Anne. Good times, good times. Oh, and the time our room, E1, got pirated by E2 which started a whole Ninja vs. Pirate war that went on for a lot longer than it should have…and yet it was so much fun! And I can’t forget the time we went on the hike with Andrea and found over 10 banana slugs and name them various variations of the name “Bob” such as Bob Junior and Bob Senior. Then there was also the original Bob. I’ll also remember doing the swing off the top of the rock wall, which was so totally and completely scary at first but them was SO much fun (if any of you new people are going to chicken out as soon as you get up there like both Alyssa and I did but then got over our fear and just went, let me just tell you right now: DON’T! It was so so so so so so so much fun!)!

I had a lot of great memories at SHALOM camp. One of them was meeting Turtle and all of the other kids at camp. The time ADAM “rolled” down the hill on a 2 X 4. Let’s just say he still has the scar. The time when we got pirated by the room next to us. Playing the all camp games and having to carry the guy on the roof down to the pool. Man Alyssa’s strong! going on the rock wall, and zip lines and Adam trying to stop me. The hike where I think Alyssa named all of the banana slugs we saw. The amazing songs, and the amazing people. You also can’t forget all games and the play done. One of the best parts was learning about Jesus though. The time we were in the tree house and Adam made his “chicken” sound. The time where we learned about Zippy the Turtle and Eskimo the Guatemalan Ninja. They made the week so much fun. That was defiantly a week that I will remember for the rest of my life. There were so many fun things. I hope you all have fun at SHALOM camp. I’m praying for you all.
