Here she is!

It’s a girl.  Our youth group and especially our youth Director is proud to announce the birth of the newest member of our Hope Lutheran Church family.  Alexandra Joy was born at 5:03pm on Thursday, September 18 and weighed in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. and measured 21 inches.  Mother and baby are both doing great and enjoying a slow day getting to know each other, since yesterday’s pace left very little room for pleasantries.

The story goes that Adam was at church working at 4 o’clock when Andrea called to say, “I think you should come home, I think I need to go to the hospital.”  Arriving home and getting her loaded into the car, Andrea’ water broke around 4:30 while we were still parked in the driveway of our home in Easton.  Utilizing some luck, some speedy driving and praying our way through rush-hour traffic, we arrived at the hospital to a wheel chair and a waiting attendant to whisk Andrea away and up to the 6th floor of the hospital.  Adam parked the car, carried a few bags and was escorted by a nurse past the admittance desk and into the birthing room.  With Adam having arrived (5 minutes prior) and the doctor not, Alexandra was born with no trouble and with good color and vital signs.  Oh what a blessing, oh what a miracle.  Oh what a joy - Alexandra Joy.
