the bands

Date February 5, 2009

So, maybe you’ve heard us talking about this Acquire the Fire thing coming up, but you aren’t really sure if it’s something that you’d be interested in.  Well, if spending some time with your youth group, your amazingly awesome (maybe a little awesome) Youth Director, your cool youth leaders and learning about Jesus with a few thousand other teens isn’t enough.  I thought maybe you’d like to check out some of the following info about some of the bands who will be leading worship or featured in concert during the event.

LEELAND

The headlining band is Leeland, according to the Acquire the Fire website, they are a “passionate, progressive and worshipful Christian band.  They have received one Grammy and been four-time Dove Award nominated.  their CD “Sound of Meolodies”, collected a 2007 GRAMMY for Award nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album…”  Check out their website where you can listen to the full album of their most recent release, “Opposite Way.”  There’ a ton of random videos.  I’ve seen them in concert twice and they are great worship leaders, but you if you check out their site, you’ll see that they’re pretty funny, crazy guys.  You can see a video of each guy here.

DECYFERDOWN

Another band with a harder/rock sound that will be there is DecyferDown.  You listen to their music and check out some of the music videos as well as videos of live performances here.

UNHINDERED

The band that will be leading worship throughout the weekend is Unhindered.  You can hear their music and check, videos, bios and blogs for them on their myspace page here or on the band’s website here.

So, check out the bands and throw up a post of what you think.  ATF is gonna’ be a cool event, will you be there?
